Labor Day weekend, the unofficial end of summer (and all things grilled and happy and sunburnt) is next week. And you haven't gotten out of your air-conditioned, fluorescent-lit cubicle all summer because the city was an soggy armpit hellscape and it melted your brain.
I'm here to save you. Behold. A list of 5 beautiful, quiet, relaxing Catskill getaways that are still rentable for Labor Day 2016. As of press time, anyway. They're going fast, people, now get clicking. I haven't stayed in any of these rentals myself, and though all have good reviews, remember to do your own due diligence. 😘
For the "I had a kid and haven't seen my friends in 6 months" getaway
The Bohemian-Style Converted Grain Mill in Bovina Center is rustic, light and airy, and sleeps 12 for a pretty reasonable $330 a night. This place is kid and pet friendly, so round up the troops and spend some serious time getting to know your friends again. And Bovina is a great place to be, with places like Russell's General Store to Brushland Eating House.

For when some in your party are indoor cats
The fairy-tale looking Retreat with Amazing Mountain Views and Swim Pond is on 31 acres of nature nature nature. The house itself is cozy, and there's WiFi and a big TV and a fireplace for those who prefer the indoors. Sleeps 8, at $500 a night.
For the yogis
Brooklyn's GoodYoga is offering an all-inclusive yo-stravganza in a converted pony barn, which is presumably sans-ponies. 😕 $242 a night in Goshen, NY, which is the closest getaway on our list at a less than two hour drive.
For the rusticks
This sweet tent from Tentrr is located at the Three Whiskers Camp in Delhi, NY. Delhi's the next town over from where we live, and it's super cute, with everything you need, from brunch to antiques to fancy tea. And to sounds like a local, make sure you pronounce it "Dell-high." Sleeps 4, for $135 a night.
This little airstream is so cute, and so right for two people who like being super close... or for one major introvert. This is in the Shawgunks, so technically not my mountains, but I couldn't pass up the airstream at $85 a night.
